Time to make a move
Jay and Pulak have lived in different cities all over the country but landed in Charlotte for their residencies. With their residencies completed and the birth of their daughter, they decided to stay in Charlotte long-term.
“We were living in a condo but knew we would need more space,” said Pulak. “We wanted to stay in the central Charlotte area, particularly in Dilworth. We also knew that we wanted a home that we could grow into with our family.”
Establishing Trust
When the Patels were ready to look for a home, they knew they wanted to work with Savvy + Co.’s Victor Ahdieh. Jay had worked with Victor years prior but had decided then that it was not the right time to buy a home. Over the years their friendship grew, and they knew when it was time to look for a home for their growing family that Victor was the right agent for them.

Convenience is Key
“Since Pulak and Jay were first time home buyers, and since both are medical professionals, they needed to be near their respective hospitals. Any of the in-town neighborhoods would have been fine, but the vibe of Dilworth resonated with them,” said Victor.
The Patels were open to suggestions but knew they wanted to be located near Uptown and in a walkable area. With its proximity to Uptown, high walkability score, and a variety of restaurants, Dilworth was the perfect area.
“We started searching online and looking at a few homes. Once Victor saw the things we did and did not like, he made recommendations for potential options. We looked at several homes in person and appreciated Victor’s patience throughout the whole process.”
Patience Pays Off
After looking at about 10 homes, Pulak and Jay would tour a new construction home that was larger than previously wanted. Although it was not love at first sight for the Patels, Victor knew better.
“Pulak and Jay knew they would entertain family and friends at their next home, so it was important to have an open floor plan bathed in natural light that included several different spaces to entertain guests. This home was a great fit.”
It would be their second tour of the home that the Patels fell in love with the property. The home checked off all the boxes, and they came to realize the larger size was perfect for their growing family. The only problem was that there were other potential buyers interested in the property.
Victor advised the Patels to make a competitive offer just before this new construction property was complete. The aggressive approach worked!

Victor’s fondest memory with the Patels included their “discussions of how to fill all the square footage” of their new home and meeting Wally, the puppy they adopted.
