But don’t just take our word for it. Check out what Sarah Martin has to say about why he chose Savvy + Co. Real Estate.
Where to Start
“I am from a small town outside of Orlando called Apopka. I moved to Charlotte in 2004 with three of my sorority sisters after we graduated from Florida State University (FSU). We had another friend who already lived here and we loved it when we visited. Compared to Orlando, Charlotte was so green, so clean, so much prettier, and with so much more charm. I loved (and still do!) the tree-scape. It seemed like just the perfect place, even 16 years ago, for a young person starting out.
I graduated from FSU with an English Education degree and was a teacher at Providence High School for two and a half years. I loved the kids and thought I always wanted to be a teacher, but something about being “out and about” in the community and creatively collaborating with other adults became more enticing.
My grandmother sold real estate in Chicago and Orlando for over 50 years. I tagged along with her every now and then when I was a kid in Orlando. It seemed really natural for me to get my license, while I was a teacher, to have in my “back pocket”. I imagined that I would use it to have some investment properties of my own (which I have also done!) but I didn’t envision it becoming full time until a year or two later. Getting my license seemed like a smart thing to do… now I know why!”
Where to Find Support
“The first firm I joined after getting my license was a large, national firm. I floundered for a few years and had zero support in marketing. There was very little training and it was outdated. I didn’t feel “pride” or enthusiasm when I was asked about the firm where I worked. I was craving a more focused, niche-feel business. I wanted a firm that had a strong reputation and also wasn’t outdated or vanilla.
I was ready to make a change and as I was driving through Dilworth I saw a Savvy yard sign with the “Oops Too Late” bubble on it. I LOVED it! Smart, eye-catching, with a bit of humor. I stopped the car, wrote down the phone number, and called within the hour…THAT was the firm I wanted to work for! They were known for great marketing, a supportive environment, and, at the time, mostly in-town listings. That was everything I was lacking and desiring.
I joined Savvy +Co. in 2008. My marketing game did a complete 180 and that’s what I knew my business needed. The game changed and it became more fluid, natural, and abundant as soon as I joined Savvy. And it just became fun, too!”
Where to Succeed
“Before joining Savvy + Co., I struggled with questions such as “where will my business come from,” “why do I have to hard-sell people on what I do”, etc. The support Savvy provides with marketing, strategy implementation, and execution, access to the owners and the Broker-in-Charge, as well as the camaraderie and the willingness to share ideas has been amazing.
Savvy + Co. Real Estate is a top-notch firm with world-class marketing, skill, and diligence without being pretentious or competitive – it’s the best of both worlds! Since joining Savvy I have been recognized as a Charlotte Rising Star and a Top 5 agent at Savvy several times.
I regularly receive calls about going to other firms and I always politely interrupt them and say, “I’m sorry – I’m really happy where I am. I am a Savvy agent through and through”. I feel very lucky to have felt that way from Day 1 at Savvy and that was 12 years ago.”
Sarah and her client, Suzanne, making pasta… in Italy! Suzanne and her husband, Sid, have been clients of Sarah’s three times (starting in 2010) and now they have become friends. Sarah visited Suzanne and Sid in Italy for a week this past summer!
