Here are just a few ways to make your Anne Springs Close Greenway trip part of an amazing summer.
Enjoy the Water – Carolina summers beg for playing around in the wet stuff and Anne Springs Close Greenway offers lots of ways to cool off. Lake Haigler is the perfect place to kayak (Saturdays and Sundays only), fish (members only) or work on your balance on a stand-up paddleboard. You can rent kayaks and SUPs for a fee or bring your own and launch them via a boat ramp at Lake Crandall or Stump Pond. Board rentals begin Saturday, June 6 and advance reservations are required. Finish the afternoon by taking off your shoes and stomping around in Steele Creek.
Take a Hike – With 36 miles of hiking trails, you can explore a new area of the greenway every time you visit. Pick up a Trail Passport or download the app and get going! Whether you are looking for a leisurely stroll or intense workout – along the way you could encounter a swinging bridge (there are 5!), historic sites, wildflowers, birds, animal tracks or even a few cows. If you prefer to see the world atop a horse, you can do that here too!
Bike the Day Away– Take a break from city streets and head to a bike trail at the greenway. Helmets are required and most trails are beginner friendly. Members and nonmembers can take bike clinics and brush up on their skills.
Satisfy your Hunger – All that outdoor activity is bound to make you hungry. Make your Pinterest picnic dreams come true when you pack up your favorite treats or charcuterie board and enjoy munching by the lake, historic cabin or adorable barn. The Gateway Canteen offers lots of options including take out and limited indoor and outdoor dining. It also serves a yummy brunch and adult beverages!
Enjoy all the greenway has to offer when you become a member. Fees are $5 a month or $60 a year for an individual, and family memberships are $10 a month or $120 per year.
Beautiful Carolina days were made for making memories at the Anne Springs Close Greenway!
