That’s where Savvy + Co. Real Estate agent, Heather Claxton, comes in! With over 12 years of experience and a genuine love for helping folks find their perfect fit, Heather is your go-to gal. Recently, she’s been making waves in the historic downtown Concord area, selling three homes within the past few months and currently working on another. So, we sat down with Heather to uncover just why so many are falling head over heels for this charming city. Ready to dive in and discover what makes Concord so special? Let’s go!
Concord has seen significant growth and development in recent years. What do you think makes Concord such a hotspot for homebuyers, especially those eyeing a move to the area?
Concord, with its blend of rich history and vibrant growth, has truly become a gem in the real estate market. Having recently helped several home buyers and sellers in Concord, particularly in the historic downtown area, I’ve witnessed firsthand the allure that draws people to this charming area!
Downtown Concord offers quaint streets, historic homes brimming with character, and a vibe that just wraps you up in a big cozy hug. It’s no surprise that HGTV recently named Concord one of The 30 Most Charming Small-Town Downtowns in America!
Also, the sense of community here is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. There’s a genuine connection that makes Concord feel like home from the moment you step foot here. Plus, let’s not forget about convenience. Need to commute to Charlotte? No problem! It’s only about 20 miles to the Queen City!
But perhaps what I love most about Concord is that you’ll find a diverse range of housing options for various budget budgets and preferences. There’s something for everyone without breaking the bank. Whether you’re a first-time homebuyer or a retiree seeking a peaceful retreat, Concord offers a welcoming environment where homeownership dreams can become a reality without sacrificing financial stability.
Fun fact: Concord is where the Avett Brothers called home, honed their craft and then grew into the musical legends they are today!
You’ve recently sold several homes in Historic Downtown Concord. What do you think are the perks of working with a real estate agent who has experience in selling historic homes?
I have many trusted contractors who specialize in historic properties, and I know from experience that having the right people on your team can make all the difference – from negotiating credits with the seller to knowing exactly what renovations will add value while preserving the home’s original charm.
Plus, it’s not just about the renovations; it’s also about navigating the intricacies of the Historic District Designation. There are a whole set of rules and regulations to abide by, particularly when it comes to knowing what changes require approval to understanding how to showcase the historical significance of the property.
Regarding pricing, unlike new construction, historic homes have a charm and character that’s hard to put a price tag on, which is why it’s important to work with an agent who sells historic homes and knows the true value of the home.
Could you share some of your favorite hidden gems or go-to spots in the area? Maybe some cozy coffee shops or unique places that visitors might overlook?
One of my absolute favorite hidden gems in Concord is The Depot at Gibson Mill! It’s an absolute treasure trove for antique shopping enthusiasts! Recently, they’ve added Gibson Mill Market, a delightful food hall where you can find everything from cozy coffee shops to fantastic restaurants and even crafty cocktail spots.
